Levothyroxine 12.5 mcg, 25 mcg, 50 mcg, 100 mcg, 150 mcg Tablet (THYDIN®)

Thydin is a thyroid hormone used for the treatment of hypothyroidism.

Initial daily dose of Thydin for hypothyroidism is 50-100 mcg, increased by increments of 25-50 mcg every 14 days to achieve a normal thyroid hormone level. Maintenance dose is 100-200 mcg/day. It should be taken as a single daily oral dose, 1-1.5 hours before breakfast and taken ≥4 hours apart from drugs known to interfere with its absorption.

The side effects of Thydin are generally associated with excessive dosage to symptoms of hyperthyroidism. These include among others tachycardia, palpitations, nervousness, tremors, heat intolerance, sweating, menstrual irregularities, diarrhea and vomiting.

Thydin is Levothyroxine Sodium available in the following dosage strengths – 12.5 mcg tablet, 25 mcg tablet, 50 mcg tablet, 100 mcg tablet and 150 mcg tablet. All dosage strengths are available in blister pack of 10's in a box of 100's.
