Lexdin is an antidepressant drug used for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD) in adolescents and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety disorder, or panic disorder in adults.
For patients with depression, Lexdin is given at 20 to 60 mg daily by mouth. For treatment of panic disorder, dose starts at 10 mg up to a maximum of 60 mg daily by mouth.
For generalized-anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder and obsessive- compulsive disorder, dose of Lexdin is similar to those used in depression. Elderly patients are given with half the usual recommended dose and a lower maximum dose.
Side effects of Lexdin include decreased blood pressure, gastrointestinal disturbances, skin rash and urticaria. Other possible side effects are seizures and extrapyramidal symptoms such as dystonia and dyskinesias.
Lexdin is Escitalopram 10 mg Film-Coated tablet, available in blister pack of 10's in a box of 30's.
